AV Squad produced the theatrical trailer for Fuze, a film from Roadside Attractions and Saban Films hitting theaters April 24.
The independent agency announced the work March 12. The trailer marks AV Squad's entry into film marketing, a category traditionally dominated by specialized entertainment agencies within holding company networks.
Roadside Attractions and Saban Films selected AV Squad for the theatrical campaign. Both distributors work primarily with major entertainment agencies for their release campaigns. The choice signals independent shops gaining access to film marketing budgets previously reserved for WPP and Omnicom entertainment divisions.
AV Squad built its reputation on brand video production and digital content. The agency's client roster includes DTC brands and regional advertisers. Film trailer work requires different capabilities: theatrical specs, MPAA compliance, and distributor relationships.
The Fuze campaign represents a category expansion for the agency. Film marketing budgets vary by release scale. Theatrical campaigns for wide releases typically run $15-30 million. Independent and limited releases allocate smaller budgets while maintaining the same creative requirements.
AV Squad joins a small group of independent agencies working in film marketing. Most theatrical campaigns flow through holding company entertainment divisions: WPP's AKQA, Publicis' Saatchi & Saatchi, and Omnicom's BBDO all maintain dedicated entertainment practices.
The trailer launches ahead of the April 24 theatrical release. AV Squad has not disclosed whether their scope includes additional marketing materials beyond the trailer.
